As the father of the Toyota Production System, Taiichi Ohno knew a thing or two about processes, procedures and strategies to actually take action.
He developed the 5-Whys Method. "The basis of Toyota's scientific approach by repeating why five times the nature of the problem as well as its solution becomes clear."
I had the opportunity to practice this method for the first time at a Mastermind a year and a half ago. The point is to allow ourselves to actually dig deep into the root of the issue/project/task at hand so that we are very clear on the purpose behind our 'why.'
