E622 The New Proposal: 32 Weeks of Mental Health For Police/Fire With PTSD Before Early Retirement

Could you imagine being a police officer or firefighter who is about to retire due to PTSD related issues being told that you had to undergo state regulated PTSD treatment before they would allow you to retire? 

 

That is exactly what Minneapolis law makers are trying to make common practice in the proposed HF1234.

 

Under this bill, any police officer or firefighter who has applied for disability retirement would have to undergo a 32-week psychotherapy treatment program before they would be evaluated and considered for retirement.
